Why you should stop by at Casa Mymy in Playa Negra?
23 km south of Tamarindo you will reach a completely different world. The not so easy access by dirt road keeps the area refreshingly uncrowded and preserved from uncontrolled development. In this quiet Costa Rican village you will find only few restaurants and lodgings amid fincas (small farms) of cows and horses. It is the perfect place to experience the pura vida life. Slow down and enjoy nature.
While you could visit various national parks without seeing any animals, you can see howler monkeys, beautiful birds, iguanas, and more just by walking around Playa Negra. If you ask locals they might even show you their neighbor the crocodile!
But most importantly (for some), Playa Negra has some of the best and most consistent waves in the area, made famous by the classic surf movie, Endless Summer II. Playa Avellanas (4km to the north) has some pretty good waves too …
